A fantastic football experience in a fantastic city. We chose the Best Western Dante Hotel which is an excellent base and ideal for access to the tourist attractions and the Camp Nou. The staff could not do enough to make sure we enjoyed our stay. 80,000+ in the stadium and a decent game made for an awesome atmosphere. We extended our stay to four nights and very glad we did, there is plenty to see and do. Everything that Football Breaks advised and arranged prior to our trip happened without a hitch, we would definitely recommend using them based on our experience on this trip
Tip: Make sure that you set out in good time for the game, the city's transport and cab service comes under a lot of pressure when Barcelona are playing at home. Be prepared for long waits for transport/cabs after the game. We ended up walking, took about an hour which was no hassle at all. Prices are pretty much the same as London as Sterling is relatively weak Try Pura Brasa restaurant for king size paella, steaks, ribs etc If you want to get in to some places like the Sagrada Famillia book well in advance, there is little chance of getting tickets on the day. The Green Bus tour is worth going on, also stop off on the way and visit Tibidabo for the views of the city, cathedral etc. Although we didn't experience any problems there are constant warnings about pickpockets so keep your wits about you!
We had never heard of FootballBreak but wanted to see a match as part of our Barcelona holiday so we anxiously booked. We were so glad we did as we were really impressed with the service. Everything ran like clockwork and any email question we had, was very quickly replied to. It rained for a bit the night we went and our seats were even under cover! (We went for the mid-priced seats) The atmosphere was amazing and we saw 2 Messi goals! We would definitely book through FootballBreak again. Our son is now desperate to go to Madrid!
Tip: If you want to see other sights too, book online before you go.
A very efficiently organised trip with great service from FootballBreak. Madrid is a beautiful city and the Bernebau stadium when local rivals, Atletico, is unbelievable. The atmosphere around and inside the stadium was absolutely brilliant but at no time did my grandsons, sons-in-law and I feel threatened or intimidated. Just extremely lively
Tip: Enjoy the city - it's just beautiful with great restaurants and bars - try the jambonieres - places where you can get sliced dried ham with a beer, coffee etc
I was very satisfied with all aspects of the package, it represented fair and good value for money.
Tip: Make sure you dress appropriately for Barcelona as the majority of the nou camp is uncovered and we got very wet.
Three friends and I had an excellent mid week city break in Barcelona. The package provided from football break was of excellent value, the hotel (Aranea) was clean , staff were friendly and the location was brilliant. Plenty of little bars, cafes and restaurants around it and not far from the centre/metro station. Flights to and from were hassle free. Footballbreak's staff were excellent, we dealt with Rebecca, who firstly contacted us after our initial booking to suggest a different hotel due to our party type, this went a long way in terms of customer service and showed the staff see their customers as individuals, not statistics. Will definitely be using this company again to visit the best teams around Europe !
Tip: we found that bars around the ground were charging us the same price for rounds when buying different numbers of drinks (e.g. A round of 4 drinks, €24. Then on the next round of 2 drinks - €24) the smaller bars not filled with Barcelona shirts seemed a lot more friendly.
